Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum celebrated 2012 with the opening of a new exhibit in the Visitor Center on Lancaster and Pennsylvania Long Rifles, Sunday, March 11, Charter Day. The exhibit told the story of the development of this distinctively American form in Lancaster County from the colonial period to the early 19th century and showcases firearms made by many of the earliest known gun makers. The exhibit included pieces from the museum's collection as well as from other institutions and private collections.
